Carers' support goup wins national award
06 December 2010

The Canterbury and Coastal Rethink Carers’ Support Group has been awarded ‘Group of the Year 2010’ by Rethink, England’s largest national membership mental health charity.

Group co-ordinators Cheryl and Chris Ives were presented with the award, chosen from among over 150 groups from across England at a National Members' Day in Bristol.

The award was presented as part of Rethink’s annual Pringle Awards, which recognise the hard work, imagination and commitment of Rethink’s members in supporting the charity’s work.

The Canterbury and Coastal Rethink Carers’ Support Group was set up nearly 40 years ago to help carers of relatives, partners and friends with a wide variety of mental health problems, to access help and information and to provide comfort and support on a regular basis.

The group meets at 7.30pm on the third Tuesday of each month (except August) at the Canterbury Umbrella, St Peter’s Place, Canterbury, CT1 2DB

For more information about the group, please contact Chris and Cheryl Ives on 01227 760707 or email rethinkcanterbury@googlemail.com
