Introduction

The Nursing and Midwifery Council / General Medical Council and Health & Care Professionals Council are regulatory bodies for individuals within their professions, which exist in order to protect the public and oversea professionals within healthcare authorities. These bodies make sure that all professionals within their specialities are up to date with their skills and training, and adhere to professional standards for care. They will also manage concerns or complaints from the public relating to potential poor care.

In order to protect the public’s best interests and maintain high standards of care across the organisation, it is necessary for the Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership trust to ensure relevant and necessary information is shared with these bodies during investigations and concerns.
