Vocational Rehabilitation team wins prestigious HSJ Value Award 2020

The Vocational Rehabilitation team has been awarded this prestigious award in recognition of their outstanding contribution to delivering better services and driving better outcomes across their organisation over the past 12 months.

April 2019 - South of England Mental Health Quality and Patient Safety Improvement Collaborative conference.

Team led by Edward Kanu, Head of Nursing awarded:

  • Excellence in Co-design of Services through Improvement
  • People’s Choice Award as voted by delegates on the day.

Occupational Therapy (OT) Awards 
KMPT staff took home a triple win with Pam Wooding winning the Outstanding Occupational Therapist category. Tracy Holt also won the Outstanding OT Technical Instructor / OT Assistant /service user contribution award category. In a double win for this category, Bob St Clair Baker was Highly Commended.

Royal College of Psychiatry (RCPsych) Awards  
Peer Supported Open Dialogue Service, Finalist, ‘Psychiatric Team of the Year: Working-age Adults’ category’. Open Dialogue were joint winners alongside King’s Health Partners Pathway Homeless Team at Maudsley NHS Trust. Our team were praised for 'leading the way' in developing a new approach to the care and treatment of patients presenting for the first time with severe mental health problems.

Finalists

  • Digital Health Awards 2019 - Digital Networks Team of the Year  - contacts Jane Knox and Katy Smith –shortlisted. Jane Knox and Katy Smith were awarded highly commended.
  • HSJ Value  Awards - Vocational Rehabilitation Team including Job Taster programme – lead is Jeanette Freeman. Finalists.
  • British Medical Journal Awards (BMJ) - MTI for Overseas Physicians programme was shortlisted for the BMJ awards in the education category. Medway NHS Foundation Trust is overseeing the project, however, Dr Katrina Damaskinidou, Consultant Liaison in Psychiatry, has been involved in teaching MMH doctors from overseas. This project was in collaboration with consultant anaesthetist Dr Shah and A&E consultant Dr Choudhury. Project was highly commended
  • Unsung Hero Award - Helen Collins, voluntary service manager and Zoe Young, voluntary service coordinator, were shortlisted for the Every Day Hero Award.
  • British Journal of Nursing - Andrew Dickers has been shortlisted in the recent BJN awards in the category of Lead Nurse for Education and Development. Andrew was awarded 3rd place.
  • Health Education England Kent, Surrey & Sussex Apprenticeship and Support Workers Awards 2019 – Apprentice of the Year Award: Stan Brookes, graphic designer, runner-up in Apprentice of the Year in the non-clinical advanced level 3 category.
    Non-clinical intermediate (level 2) category – Brittany Downs  awarded runner-up
    Non-clinical intermediate (level 2) category – Monique Collins awarded runner-up
    Apprenticeship employer of the year - Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust was awarded runner-up in the category.
