Sexual harassment in our organisation is not ok.
It is vital for everyone who works, trains and learns within our organization to feel safe and supported. We do not tolerate any form of sexual misconduct or abuse. This includes inappropriate physical touching, offensive banter, obscene gestures, slurs, or jokes. Such behaviour will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Our commitment is to foster a culture of sexual safety and actively prevent sexual harassment at every level of our organisation. If you experience any unwanted attention or witness such behaviour towards someone else, please report it. Together, we can create a safe and supportive environment free from unwanted attention and inappropriate conduct, where everyone has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.
Sheila Stenson, CEO of KMPT, emphasised:
"At our organisation, we have zero tolerance for sexual misconduct or abuse of any kind. It is our shared responsibility, across every department and at all levels, to actively prevent, identify, and report any misconduct or abuse. I urge all staff to feel empowered and confident in speaking out and assured that their voices will be heard and supported. Together, we can create a safe and respectful workplace where sexual misconduct or abuse is completely unacceptable."
All NHS organisations are committed to a comprehensive framework known as the NHS Sexual Safety Charter. This charter empowers us to recognise, report, and effectively address sexual misconduct in the workplace. We strongly support the NHS Sexual Safety Charter, which ensures that every person can work in a safe environment, free from sexual abuse and harassment. Additionally, we fully endorse the updated Worker Protection Rights, reinforcing our commitment to fostering a culture of safety and respect for everyone.
- Principle 1: We will actively work to eradicate sexual harassment and abuse in the workplace.
- Principle 2: We will promote a culture that fosters openness and transparency and does not tolerate unwanted, harmful, and/or inappropriate sexual behaviours.
