IT team shortlisted for Best Service Desk Award 2020

Date added: 03 December 2019

Outstanding IT ability together with excellent customer skills are just two of the essential ingredients that have contributed to KMPT’s IT team being successfully shortlisted for the 2020 Service Desk Institute’s (SDI) Best Service Desk award.

Michele Curtis, ICT service manager, said: “We are thrilled to have been announced as finalists for this prestigious award and can’t believe we have made it down to the final three. We’re up against some really large organisations including Ticketmaster and I am so proud of the team for making it this far!”

They now face a series of stages where the SDI judges will observe them in action and will score their performance at each stage.

Michele added: “The SDI judges will visit the team for nearly two hours and observe them on 9 January 2020. We’ll also be required to produce a 30 minute presentation to the judges, during which we’ll be asked questions about the work and why we think we should win the award. After this, the Service Desk team will be tested further to see how they operate under pressure for up to one hour.

“It’s a really thorough process and we just hope at each stage we are able to demonstrate how efficient and committed the team is each day. Service is so important to us and we want to show practically why we are the Best Service Desk of 2020 - so fingers crossed it goes well!”

The overall winner will be crowned at an awards ceremony and gala dinner on Tuesday 17 March 2019 at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham.

Congratulations to the team and on a magnificent effort so far and all the very best for the next stage.
