Festive hampers and gifts donated to staff and patients at St Martin’s Hospital

Date added: 19 December 2022

Hampers filled with festive treats and toiletry gifts have been donated to Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT) staff and patients based at our St Martin’s Hospital in Canterbury thanks to the generosity of local Morrisons Community Champions.

Mollie Gambrill and Michelle Lampert-Lloyd, Morrisons Community Champions for Herne Bay and Canterbury stores, visited KMPT on Friday 16 December and presented a total of 12 hampers filled with tea, coffee biscuits and sweet treats to say thank you to the KMPT teams working at St Martin’s Hospital. The Community Champions also delivered a selection of toiletry gifts for patients on our Bluebell, Fern and Foxglove wards within the hospital.

The local Community Champions have an established link with the hospital, and have previously worked with the St Martin’s teams in the summer as part of the Morrisons Seeds of Hope campaign, donating cornflower seeds for the patients’ garden and spreading hope and positivity.

Bruno Mukuze, Interim Senior Practitioner at St Martins Hospital commented: “We are extremely grateful to Morrisons for their kind donations to both our staff and patients.

“Our brilliant teams at St Martin’s work tirelessly to deliver the best possible care for our patients and the hampers and gifts will bring a lot of festive joy to the staff and patients on our wards.”

Mollie Gambrill, Morrisons Community Champion, Herne Bay, added: “It is a pleasure to work in the role as Community Champion and be able to recognise the staff at KMPT for their support and dedication to each patient.

“The staff make such a huge difference, not just to the patients but also their families and support networks too. Christmas is traditionally a time for giving and we also wanted to provide the patients with a small gift at this festive time”.
