Health, Heart, Hope: Kent and Medway NHS launch new charity on World Mental Health Day

Date added: 10 October 2022

Health, Heart, Hope is Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust’s brand new charity, set up to support projects that will help enhance the well-being of our patients, their loved ones, our staff and volunteers.

The charity has been concentrating its efforts on securing funding to improve Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust’s green spaces – where patients can undertake therapeutic activities, or just rest and enjoy being in nature.

We’ve seen some really important improvements at Webb’s Garden, our beautiful 2-acre green space in St Martins Hospital, Canterbury. Our innovative garden volunteers have been growing and selling fresh produce and plants to secure funds for further work – and in the last 6 months, they have raised an amazing £1,000.

Local businesses including B&Q and Taylor Wimpey, and Kent County Council have also supported the charity through sponsorship, by donating nearly 10K to improve KMPT’s therapeutic green spaces across Kent.

We have a dedicated team of maintenance and garden volunteers who attend the garden on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays every week.

If you’re a budding gardener or you’d like to help out with maintenance, why not get involved and become a volunteer? Or if you’re looking for fresh local produce to buy, you can support our brand new charity Health, Heart, Hope by heading over to Webb’s Garden to check out what is on offer.
