Ashford & Canterbury Memory Assessment Service (MAS) - Canterbury
Our Memory Assessment Service (MAS) team provides community-based support and treatment for adults of all ages experiencing memory difficulties. The team makes sure that care is tailored to individual needs, regardless of age.
Who we support
If you’re worried about your memory, your GP or another health professional can refer you to us. Many people get assessed and diagnosed on the same day. Some however may need more time or further tests and this will be discussed with you on the day.
What to expect
After we assess you, we’ll help you create a personal care plan. You’ll receive:
- A full memory assessment and diagnosis
- Quicker access to treatment and support
- A face-to-face appointment
- Time to ask questions
- Support before and after diagnosis
- Information about our post diagnosis offer
- Help from dementia coordinators for you and your family
Our team
MAS team brings together a diverse team of professionals including:
- Doctors (Consultant Psychiatrists)
- Mental health nurses
- Nurse consultants and prescribers
- Occupational therapists
- Psychologists
- Support workers
- Administrative staff
Providing feedback and raising concern
We encourage feedback on your experience of using MAS and MHT+ (Dementia Pathway & Later Life Pathway). If you have concerns about your care, please speak with your care team directly.
Alternatively, you can:
- Meet with a local service manager to share your experiences
- Contact Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) to arrange an appointment
- Complete a Patient Reported Experience Measure (PREM) to provide feedback
