This document details the privacy notice for Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG)

Publication date:
18 July 2018
Date range:
July 2018 - July 2021

Introduction

The Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) are organisations established in English law by the Health and Social Care Act. They are clinically-led statutory NHS bodies responsible for the planning and commissioning of health care services for their local area. There are now 195 CCGs in England.

Commissioning involves deciding what services are needed for diverse local populations, and ensuring that they are provided. As such, anonymized clinical information will be sent to the CCG to enable them to plan and manage services within the Kent and Medway area.

We would only share identifiable information with the CCG where another legal basis for sharing is met, such as consent.
