We are #KMPTProud to have been awarded a national accolade recognising our excellent standards in supporting newly registered nurses.

The NHS England National Preceptorship Interim Quality Mark awards organisations which create an environment where new team members can thrive, learn and grow.  Preceptorship is the 12-month period of structured transition where healthcare professionals are supported by experienced nurses to develop their practice, confidence, and skills.

KMPT Interim Deputy Director of Nursing and Practice, Portia Aveling said:  “Such an accomplishment is testament to our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality mentorship.  It demonstrates how well we work together to provide continuous learning opportunities in a nurturing setting and most importantly our dedication to delivering the highest standard of care through well-trained and highly skilled staff.”

The trust’s education and preceptorship teams, Chief Nurse, clinical staff, senior leaders and multi-disciplinary teams played a crucial role in achieving the milestone.  The alliance was commended on its individualised learning plans and recently implemented study programmes, created to enhance skills and boost confidence and competence in a clinical setting.
