Allington Centre

We are a Low Secure Inpatient Service that offers holistic person centered care packages for male patients between the age of 18-64 yrs detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007), whose mental health and offending/criminal behaviors puts them and/or others at significant risk.

Our treatment and rehabilitation programmes are based on the Recovery Model. This includes the right to receive a full range of treatment to improve an individuals well being whilst developing meaningful integration into the community where they reside; of which the treatment of offending behaviour and the appropriate management of risk is paramount.

Service Users and where possible/appropriate their families/carers are encouraged to be involved as much as possible with their assessment, treatment. Our patients are encouraged to engage with Independent Mental Health and Mental Capacity Advocacy services throughout their care pathway.

The Allington Centre is twenty bedded with each bedroom offering en-suite facilities. We are registered with the Low Secure Quality Network.

Fifteen beds are located on the Low Dependency Unit (LSU); and five beds within the High Dependency Unit (HDU) where a more intensive support care package can be provided with reduced stimuli. The HDU is generously sized with its own internal courtyard and seclusion suite.

Other facilities include open courtyards, lounges & separate dining rooms, laundry facilities, gym, kitchen, a large room used for therapeutic activities and treatment groups and small rooms available for family or professional visits.
